A very special version of the Infantry Assault Badge represents this variant.
The facts so far indicate that this is a piece produced in Spain, which was produced in the early 50s until the early 70s.
It is known that Iron Crosses of the first and second class, as well as war merit crosses and the medal “Winter Battle in the East 1941/42” were produced in Spain from 1944 to about 1970. Any soldier who could present a certificate of possession of the respective award, was entitled to buy these pieces in Spain.
Presumably, these infantry assault badges were made for the “Blue Divison” “División Española de Voluntarios” combats to replace lost or broken pieces.
Although it is probably post-war pieces, this variant appears extremely rarely on the collectors market and should be a highlight in any infantry assault badge collection.
